At McLeod Home Care, going the extra mile isn’t just something we say—it’s something our team lives out every day. Recently, Kasandra, our Care Manager in Charleston, demonstrated exactly what that looks like in real time. When a Team Lead found themselves stranded on the side of the road with a dead car battery, Kasandra didn’t hesitate. She stepped in immediately, assessed the situation, and took action. Realizing the battery needed to be replaced, she left to purchase a new one, returned, and installed it herself—all while standing in the pouring rain. Thanks to her quick thinking and dedication, the Team Lead was able to get back on the road and continue their day.

Moments like these deserve recognition. Kasandra’s actions reflect the heart of who we are as an organization—people who genuinely care, not just about our clients, but about each other. This is the kind of support that defines our culture. From care managers and leadership to caregivers in the field, schedulers, and front desk staff, our team consistently steps up. Whether it’s covering shifts, solving last-minute challenges, or ensuring no issue goes unresolved, everyone plays a part in creating a supportive and dependable environment.

At the core of it all is what we call MRI—Meaningful, Relational Interactions. These interactions are the foundation of everything we do and every metric we track, because behind every number is a real human connection. Kasandra’s meaningful act of support is something that won’t be forgotten by that Team Lead, and it’s a perfect example of how small moments can make a lasting impact. We’re proud to celebrate team members like her who truly embody the spirit of McLeod Home Care.
